Bro Frank Brimley

Bro. Frank Brimley R.O.H.

Provincial Grand Primo, 2001
Knight President, 2000
Chorley Province

Bro. Frank and his wife Margaret moved to Lancashire from Nuneaton in 1975 when her parents work required them to move into the area. He first encountered the Buffs through the Buff Club in Leyland, of which Margaret's parents were Steward and Stewardess at the time. Having always been willing to help with charitable events he became interested in the activities of the Lodges which met there and he was initiated into the Leyland Lodge on 12th June 1977.
Bro. Frank places a lot of importance on his principles and is always prepared to express his opinions strongly. Sometimes this has led to disagrements and at one time resulted in him drifting away from the Buffs for a while. However, his belief in the principles of the Order remained strong and he eventually returned.
Although content for a long time to remain at the First Degree he did eventually become restless for more involvement (it only took him 16 years). Following his affiliation to the New Era Lodge in 1992 he finally decided to go before the Chorley Province Examining Council. He passed and was subsequently raised to the Second Degree by the New Era Lodge on 17th September 1993.
Following this he immediatley became involved in PGL and was elected to PG Waiter in 1993. He served in a number of offices over the following years and was elected to serve on both the Examining Council and Executive Committee in 1995. He attended the 1997 RAOB Convention at Scarborough as Province Delegate.
He was raised to the Third Degree by the New Era Lodge on 11th May 1997 and has been a keen member of the Knight's Chapter since. He was raised to the 4th Degree on 24th November 2002 by Bro. Eric Herbert R.O.H. Grand Primo for 2001.
He became President of the Examining Council in 1998, Knight President in 2000 and Provincial Grand Primo in 2001.
Bro. Frank has always enjoyed visiting other Lodges and was affiliated to the George Elliot II Lodge in his native Nuneaton in 1998, though he is no longer in compliance there.
His interest in charitable activities led to him becoming Province delegate to the Leyland Festival committee for a number of years until he became a member of the Committee in 1996.
