The Lodge was founded on 23rd March 1979 in the R.A.O.B. Club, Broad Street, Leyland.
The name 'New Era' was chosen to symbolise a new way of Buffing
When the club closed they moved to the Broadfields, Leyland Lane. They later moved to the Priory Club, then to the Railway, followed by the Roebuck Hotel and finally back to the Broadfields.
On one occasion in this peripatetic life the Lodge managed to open in the Railway, moved quickly and briefly to the Broafdfields to re-establish themselves there and finaly concluded the evening by closing in the Roebuck Hotel.
Meeting just twice a month leaves them short of a couple of registrations a year so they enjoy filling these by holding extra Lodge nights during those months in which there are five Mondays. On these extra nights they convene and then adjourn to visit Lodges in other Provinces.
These visits have proved to be very popular and they invariably attract Brethren from other Lodges in the Province who join them on the visit for the night.
